Throughout the year, we have dogs that reach the Started Dog category for sale. Sell price depends on breeding and current skill level. Please call for more information regarding these dogs.
We consider Started Dogs to be dogs who have completed the obedience training and the started hunting retriever training program as described on our training page. Started dogs to us are those dogs that are ready to hunt. Started dogs are dogs that make single marked retrieves on land or in water, deliver to hand with a soft mouth promptly, sit, and hold. Our started dogs have good obedience, have been force fetched, and collar conditioned.
The new pups that will be offered this Fall will be one yellow male, two male black, and two female black. Please call for pricing and training levels.

SOLD Bear (DOB 7/2/14) HRCH “Gus” x HRCH “Storm” pup
Bear is an eager to please young retriever that has progressed well with his puppy program training and obedience. He is a very aggressive retriever that is picking up ducks and bumpers shot from wingers. He is now going through our started program, and his price will depend on skill level and level of training.

Bella and Maggie are out of the same litter and are showing strong ties to their parents. Both puppies have a very strong desire to retrieve anything thrown for them. They are going through our started dog program currently learning obedience, followed by force fetch and collar conditioning while continuing to pick up single retrieves on land and water. Their price will depend on skill level in the started category and level of training.

Penny has been with Prairie Plains since she was 7 weeks old. She has grown up in our kennel and is becoming an obedient, driven retriever. She has gone through our puppy and started hunting retriever program which is described on our training page. Her training includes formalobedience, force fetch, and collar conditioning. Woody is five months old as of September 2014. He is a personable little dog that is responding to our puppy program quite well. He is learning his obedience commands and is an eager water dog. He simply loves to go swimming. We will continue to train Woody to get him ready for this duck season in 2014-2015. Woody’s price will depend on his level of training. Below is a picture of Woody.
